I love the ad, graphically, but the outfit less so.  "Talk of the campus" I'll bet.  "An absolute set-up for conversation" in a "gay stocking cap", "bulky" vest and "goofy" mittens - their words, not mine.

The first one makes me think of that Far Side comic in which a woman's husband gets eaten by a monster, but she survived because she was wearing a dress with the same pattern as her sofa and wallpaper.

All of the ads are lovely, especially number three. It's impressive that the ad actually made a toliet paper dress look attractive. Although, I agree with you that no one should really make their own TP dress (except maybe for Halloween).

maybe it's the crudeness of the drawing, but i kind of think the second one is cute. perhaps i'm biased as i went to college where that would actually be useful.

I love it too - that's one of the reasons I saved it. It's basically a watercolor with a bold ink over top. It's got a lot of feeling (and genuine-ness) that you don't see in most ads.
