Are you sure this is from the '50's? It looks like an early 1970's model Harley as does the artwork. Lovely ad :)

It must've been a golden time in the 70s for commercial artists, when it didn't really matter if you knew jack sh*t about anatomy or not.

Kind of looks like he's unconsciously trying to grope the bike's butt.

I love the ad copy and the font, but this HAS to be from when AMF had Harley and the bikes were crap. That is the wimpiest Harley I've EVER seen, and that includes the very first machines that were basically fat tired bicycles with motors.

Oh, of course...there's the AMF logo... I went to school with the Davidson daughters in Brookfield-Elmgrove, (suburb of Milwaukee): Carrie and Amy. I remember when their family bought back controlling rights. It was a scary but exciting time for them. I'm glad it went so well.
