New Year's Eve will be a little less rockin' from now on. :(

I didn't realize that Clark was the original Pyramid host until today. Or that he had first-run shows on all three major networks at the same time (Bandstand on ABC, Pyramid on CBS, TV's Bloopers on NBC).

He's an impressive man, and the more you learn about him, the more impressive he gets.

Wow, how young he looked in the Beech-nut commercial. He will be missed.
RIP DC

I keep remembering this commercial where Dick Clark comes in year after year for some product, and never ages a day (dick walks in and the year is captioned 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, etc)

I think it aired sometime in the mid 90s, maybe during a superbowl, but I cant remember what it was for... Im thinking either life insurance, cars, rental cars, or hotels.... wish I could remember for the life of me!

Aw, no! That makes me sad. From the day I was hatched he's been a pleasant presence in my life.

As it turned out Anita Bryant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Bryant) wasn't all that nice a lady...

I went to many tapings of Pyramid over the years. I often wondered about his frequent flyer miles, as he filmed Pyramid here in NYC and was doing American Bandstand from Los Angeles. Surely he logged millions of miles over his career!

RIP Dick: a true television and music legend.
