I never understood our more recent love affair with baths. Who wants to sit in their own filth as it floats around you.

I think the presumption is that one IS clean and the water serves to relax/aromatherapize/heal. Add bubbles and the dirt is contained (as with soap). That being said, I don't find baths fun - I'd much rather have a larger hot tub to move about in, get in and out of, etc. (also a cool tub is divine, paired with a hot one).

You have a good point there. Showing the nipples of any gender may have actually been frowned upon then.

No, I have no interest at all in sitting in that same water I'm washing myself with...ugh. I guess the baths are supposed to be for relaxing, not cleaning...but then, why all that stuff about not being good if you stink...ah. My poor brain, the mystery is all just too much for it...
