"Rinse diapers in a Lysol solution"?! Would you even wear underwear that had been rinsed in a Lysol solution, for Pete's sake? *brrrr* (Or "Lysol," as the ad keeps calling it. I'm itching to call up the blog of unnecessary quotation marks.) That had to be the worst diaper rash ever. Poor babies.

My grandmother's first child, my mother, was born in 1949 and she couldn't abide this sort of thing. "These people clean everything and then their kids just get sick later!" she said.

And she was right. Every day, I realize more and more how awesome my grandmother is.

How interesting that the ad mentions birthing at home as a normal thing! Probably the last American generation to experience that attitude, although hopefully not for much longer.
