I'm not sure I want to know what parts of the poor rabbits were shaved and had lotion applied.

Back in the day, companies proudly proclaimed that their products were animal tested! Poor bunbun. :-/

I wonder what the chemical actually was.

Last year my boyfriend and I went on a long bike tour (four months) during one of the worst years ever for mosquitoes. I normally try to stick to the natural stuff, but there was just no way. We ended up wearing one or two layers of DEET spray every single day, and they would still hover around me and bite here and there. I hate the stuff, it's creepy and it fucking STINKS, but it was either that or be covered in bites, since I'm the kind of person they seem to like most. And the bites would swell up and itch for three weeks! UGH.

That's how DEET works too: masks your scent.

I'm a mosquito magnet, too, so I feel your pain. I'm also the kind that swells up big time. Those things tend to go together. My mother used to get so mad at me because she thought I was scratching them and getting them infected, but I wasn't. Well, I tried not to, anyway.

It's beginning to be mosquito season where I live so if rubbing something on Peter's peter keeps those monsters away, then rub away! Well, not really. I don't like the idea of animal testing and I prefer the natural stuff, for me it's either harsh chemicals or never leaving my house. Needless to say, I don't go out much in warm weather.

Last spring was late and wet for a huge portion of North America, apparently, and it left puddles everywhere for them to breed in. Montana was the absolute worst. We went around Glacier National Park and took Marias Pass, and they were in CLOUDS. Literal actual clouds of them. We normally take photos of ourselves under pass signs, and I let my boyfriend take, like, one or two before I had to get on the bike and try desperately to escape them. That day was the absolute worst--they flew in my ear, up my nose, into my mouth....

My boyfriend and I found out that 9 miles an hour is the speed at which you can outrun mosquitoes. Either you yourself going that fast, or a wind that fast. But even then, if they could they'd just fly behind you out of the wind. UGH.

I got so tired of mosquitoes last year. And we just had (in Oregon) the wettest March on record, and it's barely let up, so I have no hopes for this year either. Nothing like stopping at a red light on your bicycle only to be feasted upon.

This rabbit shaved the sensitive fuzzy bits of a man and vigorously applied this chemical... If it doesn't irritate him, it's safe enough for all the little baby bunnies the world over.

What? They didn't strap the rabbit down and drip it in his eyes? Then I am not interested.

Good day, sir. I said good day!

God only knows what this concoction was made from. After all, it was from the trustworthy people at National Carbon who brought you Bhopal, Love Canal and other horrors.

Those poor rabbits. :( Wait a minute... That's what's wrong with the Easter Bunny from the car commercial, isn't it? They created some weird, human-rabbit hybrid.
