Reminds me of Mad Men! All the executives call their admins "their girls". "Have your girl type this up." or "Just get your girl to do it!"

Back in the days, executives would be completely LOST without their secretaries. Men didn't even learn how to type in those days! Yet the secretaries were frequently sexually harassed and not treated all that well. Not to mention, men couldn't be secretaries even if they wanted to.

I'm glad things have changed for the better.

The only reason I can put up with being an admin is because I work at a progressive university where I don't have to endure crap like this. If I'd been born 20 or 30 years earlier, There's no way I would do this for a living.

It's the "girl" thing that gets me the most. Try watching some of the sitcoms and even what some considered progressive shows from the sixties--women are always "girls", there to meet every man's needs...it's sickening.
