I've heard him interviewed, and he has some smart observations on an array of subjects. He was a Cincinnati city councilman, and briefly served as mayor (this was when its mayor was selected from among council members, not directly elected). Like Maury Povich, who was a fine local TV anchorman in Washington, hosting a talk show turned him into a parody of himself...even as the money kept rolling in.
