Ewwwwww, *gross*. You know, after seeing these kind of ads, it gets easier and easier to become vegetarian. Just sayin'.

The word "loaf" is starting to make me ill.

This. I'm a vegetarian already but I'm very mellow about it... but these ads remind me that I could probably never eat meat again even if for some weird reason I decided I should.

Look, I like tongue. Especially when done like a steak, with gravy.

But tongue loaf, canned tongue loaf at that, fills me with nothing but dread.

Pity they could only spring for two colours of ink, and that they chose to colour the people rather than the meat. Nothing more appetising than a plate of slabs of grey meat...

Those smiles look so forced, as if they're afraid they'll get wished into the corn field if they don't say they love the loaf.

Pork or Ham loaf MIGHT be good fried, but thank you no on the rest.

"Liver Loaf had accomplices!" And they're all serving time in the can.

Given that calling it Liverwürst was not politically correct during the War years, and meat rationing and all...

Considering how it was probably full of fillers, "loaf" is probably a more apt word anyway. Who knows what those "other nourishing ingredients" were, but I'm sure it wasn't quality meat.

Ugh! Um, thanks?

I think I'll go get a McPink Slime Deluxe instead.

Ew, the stuff that was in the liver loaf was actually nutritious, and didn't have to be treated with ammonia to kill all the nasties it had.

It's not just the food that bothers me. I don't like the way that couple is looking at me and what exactly do they want me to come and get? I just know that guy would offer me some "tongue loaf" and he wouldn't be referring to the canned meat.

Here to defend liverwurst and tongue! There's a Salvadoran place not far from me that makes a tongue dish that is ambrosial, and I'm not even kidding.

And liverwurst? My father's people are Danish: liverwurst is a sacrament. Put some sauteed mushrooms and bacon on that, maybe a modicum of shaved red onion, slap 'er on black bread with a bit of hot mustard, and that's good eatin'.

Just think of it as pate.
