They look delicious. It is blazing hot here right now, and while I have a pint of blueberry cheesecake ice cream waiting for me in the freezer, it's not the same as going to a nice ice cream parlor and having a banana split or a huge chocolate parfait.
Oh, the goodness of Howard Johnson's in the 60s! They did have delicious ice cream treats and they made yummy hot dogs too (hey, I was a kid). That reminds me of how my mom and I used to go to Woolworths and have a hot dog at the counter. Ah, the 60s. I've never really left them behind.
And you and I must be about the same age group. Friday nights, my mom would take my brother and me to Hojo's for a hot dog, French fries, a Coke, and any ice cream we wanted for dessert. That was our idea of glamorous "eating out" and we looked forward to it every single week.
Great ad. There's no Hojo's around here either and I miss them.
Simple pleasures, right? My mom had little money, so taking me over to Woolworths for that hot dog was a big deal. It made it all the more delicious. Not to mention all the treasures a kid could find in Woolworths.

Sadly the Hojo's we remember are long gone.
