Schirdewan was a schnapps brewery in Breslau (Poland), widely distributed, naturally, in the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). The low quality printing and colors are not age, but quite typical of the GDR in that era; the paper was coarse and the ink used sparingly. The ad itself is a bit jumbled from a design standpoint, but I love it for its little rhyme and for its rarity.
Schirdewan, 1950s

"Fühlst Du die böse Grippe nah'n, trink einen Grog von Schirdewan!"
"If you feel the evil flu coming on, drink a grog from Schirdewan!" The medicine being added is not specified.
