House Beautiful 1955

Knoll was one of the best furniture designers at there time. Well worth a look into.

Yes, Knoll! So much mid-century goodness in this ad. I LOVE IT.

I love it so much! The bedroom I would move into at a drop of a hat. In the living room I would replace the yellow and throw out the plants and I would be good to go.

We had plants like that. My mom really had a green thumb. :)

We always had plants in the house and she and Dad always planted lots of flowers and trees on our property.

The decor in our house started out modern but turned to Colonial-style. My parents liked it better. I like both styles myself. :)

That mattress looks to be the approximate thickness of a Harlequin romance novel. Apparently there will be no lolling around sleeping late in this house.

Personally I'm not fond of this kind of furniture. I do like the bedroom, though the bed looks a little bit flimsy.
