My Dad had the exact same camera. I no longer have it, but I do have the slides and viewer.

There was also a Viewmaster camera; you could make your own Viewmaster reels. Sadly, that tech disappeared, even way before digital came along. I guess the demand wasn't there.

my father still has several of these cameras and uses them all the time. processing the slides is a bit of a pain, as it is mostly manual, but they turn out really good. he even has a projector that uses polarizing glasses.

his interest also spurred me to write a report on the history of 3-D photography for my advanced photography class in college. so if you want way too much information on the subject, i could probably drum that up.

on a side note: although it's making a resurgence, i don't see 3-D becoming mainstream now. the technology has been around for as nearly as long as 2-D photography, and it's never been too much more expensive.
