Yeah, if your man is wearing that outfit, damn sure I am talking about him. Probably also secretly taking photos of my him with my phone and texting/twittering/facebooking them to everyone I know.

Seriously, fun to see this...

It's tragic to think there was a time when this ensemble was, indeed, fashionable.

Forget about it. You're not alone in any sense of the word. You rock way, way too hard.

Dear, that's not what they mean by "casual Friday". Please don't wear your summer suit into the office anymore.

When I was in the Navy and went to Bermuda in 1981 to work in the weather office at the Naval Air Station there, well, Bermuda was the first and only place I saw men wearing clothing like this. I remember laughing to myself when I first saw it, because it seemed so silly to see serious businessmen in shirts w/ a tie and a suitcoat and the knee shorts and knee socks. But many men did it (the local Bermudians) and so it was probably very normal for them. I'd love to go back to Bermuda for various reasons; one being that I'd like to see if men dress like this anymore.

I was thinking: Kurt, from the Sound of Music, grew up to be a handsome man, but he really must update his wardrobe.

Given the colors described, I am really sad that this ad is black and white. The other thing I find interesting is that B. Altman and The Emporium were not real high-end department stores -- heck, The Emporium had a Bargain Basement when I was a kid. This is pretty daring for that middle-brow audience.
