McGregor menswear, 1948-49

In honor of my going back to school (to work):

Ted, Cal, Harold, Greg or Cary - who's got it going on this year?

Two more

LOVE the pleated trousers!

Men look like such shlubs these days.

While I personally prefer Cary- not only because of his button vest/hat combo, but because of the the collegiate pipe in hand- I think Ted's the one who's "Got it" THIS year. You just can't beat that suave dressed-up/ dressed-down look achieve by the one-two punch of fedora with sweater vest and wide shirt collar that matches the lining of the coat. Yowza, co-eds: Look out for Ted!

Yeah, Ted definitely has a come-hither look to him! Of course, he could just be checking out Cal....

Big improvement over the "yesterday's T-shirt/last week's pants/backward cap" look most of the guys on my campus are wearing.

Man, it sure would be nice if guys still wore clothes like these, instead of the wide-striped polo shirts that make them look like overgrown toddlers and the culottes they persist in calling "shorts."

Yeah, men don't care a fig for fashion anymore. Holes in the knees of dirty jeans and a torn T-shirt is about it with that perennial backward baseball cap.

Women wear ugly clothes, too (ripped jeans) but more of them tend to follow fashion.

Actors use to set the trends. Now most of them wear the same 'uniform' detailed above. Christian Bale dresses like a slob in RL, but that's probably why when he dressed up in Armani as Bruce Wayne or in sharp clothes and fedora in Public Enemies as Melvin Purvis it was such a treat! :)

If only fellows on campus were this spiffy when I was in college. However pleated pants were very stylin' in 1985 as well.
