Meats you've NEVER EVER HEARD OF, below.

Burns & Company

Yes, SPORK.  And SPEEF.  I did a spit take the first time I saw these.

Two further Burns ads (NOT entries) in the same format, for actual meats, but sadly no more appetizing

I'm trying to think what starts with "sp-" that they're mixing up with pork and beef and... I've got nothing.

Maybe it's just that it worked so well for Spam?

OK, that makes more sense than anything else I thought. But I still don't see the appeal, and I say that as someone who, as a child, loved fried spam.

That's a fancy garnish on the chili! I wonder how they made that faux daffodil... looks like green onion for the leaves but I can't figure out what they used for the flower. I want to make one. ^^

The bird salt shaker is also cute.

And like everyone else, I'm highly amused by 'Speef'.

Because the thought that anyone would name meat products "Spork" and "Speef" is just too damn good.

"Spork" and "Speef" sounds like the newbie shippers' names for pairings: Spirk? Kock? Really? It's KIRK/SPOCK, people!

*facepalm*

Edited to vote!

I wholeheartedly agree, as I see the same odd mash-ups in headings for Final Fantasy fiction, too, but Spirk will have me laughing all night. Do the people using these labels never think of how they sound?! Spirk? Clack? These are not words that inspire romance or lust! Not to mention how it negates the entire reason behind calling it "slash".

(mods: header removed because I already voted above.)

I can handle Clex and Clois well enough, but when you mash up names and the reader is trying to figure out who they might be, or the mash-up is so ridiculous...it especially irks me with K/S, since as you say, it's the reason an entire subset of fandom is called slash! That is the one newbie thing that will always irritate me.

Yes, but eww!

Because I need a big heapin' helping of Spork and beans in my life.

My new slash pairing is Spork/Speef, which combines to make Spork. Or Speef. I might have to rethink this.

I'm very upset. I thought a "spork" was that plastic utensil that's shaped like a spoon but has teeth on the end so you can also use it as a fork. :'(
