They had aircon back then? It's still only gradually coming in here for other than multi-story offices. Restaurants are obscenely hot in summer and I've decided to avoid Christmas work dinners unless they're in one of the few with aircon.
I had to stop and readjust my brain after reading this... oh yeah! Christmas is summer for half the world! :) Here in New England, it's a hot and steamy summer and Christmas means blizzards and snowmen and bundling up in warm clothes. :)
Down here we grow up knowing about the tilted planet thing. We know it's the opposite up there because of your cultural dominance - in fact when I went to the UK the first time, I thought: "At last, I'm in the real world!" And it still feels that way with everyone forgetting about us. :-(
I heard your summer was bad. Ours is very hot and humid too and the last one was the hottest on record. I bought two portable aircons to supplement the one big one in the lowest level. Bleah.
No wonder it's hot in there. The woman is radioactive! She's emanating heat just like the sun! Must be going through the change.
That's a nice-looking unit! It certainly looks better than the typical window mounted room a/c. I wonder where it vented out the hot air. Maybe a tube that ran out the window?
