Although I'm wondering how unintentional this could possibly be. "Lure him away from the poolboy?" Seriously?

I feel like that dude's bathing suit is intentionally gay.

That's what I thought, my gay b/f would totally make that suit for himself, tight and form-fitting and open sides?

Uhmmm...

How could it be read in any way other than gay?

I read somewhere that this is a parody ad based on a real Jantzen ad with different text.

under the circumstances, even though it is a parody and isn't an 'official' ad, this ad can definitely remain....rules are meant to be broken from time to time.....

Oh, I'm completely okay with that! This ad is amusing :)

I'm afraid there aren't a whole lot of other ways to read this one... Unfortunately, seems it's an edit (http://www.flickr.com/photos/strph/218946945/).

This isn't real. Someone photoshopped the text onto an old jantzen ad.

Shooped or not, I love that lady's swimsuit.

If he's hanging out with the poolboy in THOSE swimming trunks? No amount of Esther Williams ribbed onsie is going to get him back. Although they could probably come up with a really kicky choreographed poolside number...

Whoa, son, a Speedo wasn't enough for you?

(I dearly want the woman's suit, though, it's gorgeous.)

This appears to be the real deal:

This link shows some close ups of the ad and also some nice photos of real vintage swimwear. Certainly worth a look. The guy's suit is called the "daredevil."

I still don't get that Mad Men episode that depicted the Jantzen people as being prudish. Seriously?

Dang. But even sans the text, that is one of the GAYEST men's bathing suits I have ever seen. And yes, I want that ribbed bathing suit!

Just wanted to say that I have some nice underwear just like that mans bathing suit in black, I always thought it was a bit much even for women's panties but then again I'm rather bland undies wise.

so, just the words are different from the original, not the art? I've never seen mens' swim trunks with that design and I love them.

It may be a fake, but the text and spacing of the layout is PERFECT! Extremely well done, IMO.

Yeah, it's not gonna work. He looks far more interested in smoking another sort of pipe.
