okay....reminder....our march contest starts TOMORROW....

theme: you're advertising WHAT?

mission: find ads that make you go huh? you're advertising WHAT? 1990 and before only please....print and commercials are both acceptable....

requirement: put CONTEST or CONTEST ENTRY in the subject

voting: you MUST put 'yes' in the comments....only YES counts as a vote....if you say you like the ad, it does not count as a vote...only YES counts....and yes, you can vote for your own ad and yes, you can vote on every single ad if you wish....top 5 vote getters go to the finals...

time line: ads will be accepted through next monday and i will post the 5 finalists, barring any major situations, next tuesday morning....

patience please grasshopper: some posters have their ads go to the moderation queue still so please have patience....i actually go to bed and sleep at night....during the day i try to check very often (like almost hourly, especially during a contest), but sometimes i get busy doing something and believe or not i will actually leave my house for a few hours....so before you send me a pithy message demanding i free your ad from the queue, please realize that i'm just one person and i do the best i can.....my co-mod tanwen has been busy with life also....

It would be nice if we could queue up more than one post at a time. Not that it's a big deal.

you can't have more than one post in the queue?? i am sure i have seen some people with more than one post in the queue.....hmmmmm.....let me check the settings....actually, you have had no problems posting, so 1. i'll check to see if there's any such settings re: the queue, because i honestly don't know and 2. i'll approve you to post unmoderated.....how's that? :)

i only posted that comment because last comment there was one poster in particular who got quite testy when it was 3am and their ad was still in the queue....they sent me a pithy message.....yeah.....i sleep....i do try my darnedest to keep up though....but i can't in my sleep....

checked the settings....there is NO setting for the queue....it's weird that it limits people to just one though......but i do wish peoples could please understand i'm just one person....

AND.....you can now post unmoderated, so the queue is history for you! :)

I thought you were approving them awfully quickly! Yeah, it used to be that I could not post another ad until the first one had cleared.

that's okay....hell the notifications on LJ are all buggered up the past few days....i have hardly got any notifications on my posts and it's quite annoying......

it sucks that only one post by peoples can be in the moderation queue, but there is no setting for that...i try to approve people to post unmoderated after a few posts with no problem, but sometimes i hit 'approve post' too quick and forget to check that box and then i forget to go into members and do it......

we use to have unmoderated posting, but it just caused too many problems with people posting spam, sites for ads for sale, non-vintage ads, etc.....
