This is still one of the best movies ever made. I am a little upset right now that I don't have my copy on DVD. The behind the scenes features are very interesting.

I like the book a lot. They really had to reduce it a lot in order to make a movie, but that's understandable.

I've read the book a few times. It was the first novel I read when I was 9. I couldn't put it down and finished it in 3 days. I have to pick up a new copy of that too.

I know that the focus of the movie was on Rhett and Scarlett's relationship but I always wanted to see the children that she had with Charles and Frank. As soon as I get my taxes done I am buying the book again. I need to reread it.

It's funny, cos if you take just the plot of the movie, it's little more than a romantic novel (they took a lot away from the book), but it's so superbly made, it matters little. I love it!!!!

Have you watched the behind the scenes documentary they did? In some ways it's amazing to think that, with everything that was going on backstage they were able to make such an amazing movie. Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable didn't get along. She hated having to kiss him because he apparently had horrible breath. They enhanced Vivien's bust in the scene where she dresses in red for Ashley's birthday party because, from what I remember, Gable thought she was too small chested. He couldn't dance so the scene at the beginning when they are dancing when Scarlett is still in morning was filmed on a moving platform so it looked as if they were actually dancing. They somehow pulled it all together.

They used to show it a couple of times a year here but I haven't seen it lately. The last time it was on my son sat down with me and watched it. He was upset when I told him it was bedtime because there was still an hour left.
