Somehow I get the feeling that the end result would look nothing like what is in that picture!

But then again, that would mean that hot plate=pizza

I'm thinking burnt crust on the bottom and unmelted cheese on top. MMMMMM!

Exactly! In theory, I really want to try this. It seems like it could add some interesting elements to the crust that just baking wouldn't. In reality though, I think it would just end in tears and gross pizza.

Not on my screen. Weird. But I have been getting a lot of weird error messages today when I post, so nothing would surprise me!

Once again, my juvenile ginger brethren pimp the questionable foodstuffs. Are we like the spokesidiots for pseudofood or something?

Or sufficiently unloved that you're encouraged to dangerously facially hover near heat sources.

You're probably right. Our freckles are really just scorch marks.

I'm going to go beat myself like a redheaded stepchild now, on behalf of spokesidiots everywhere.

Okay, skillet-pizza might be acceptable. But skillet-box-pizza? I don't think so. Also, in this day and age, that would be one serving.

I mean, I think I like the idea of pizza in a skillet (you could have pizza while camping!) this just...no. I in general hate Chef Boyardee, though.

I think it could be possibly okay if it were cooked longer at a slightly lower temp...

thank you! i was trying to remember why this looked so familiar, but i didn't know why we'd ever eat this when we had an oven.

but we ate this on pretty much every camping trip we went on - which was at least a couple times a year. it must have worked pretty well, because i remember it being my favorite meal. or maybe it was just in comparison to most other camp food.

See I think the only way to really get it to work well would be to flip the crust 1/2 way thru and then you'd get a great pizza. Just add sauce and cheese after the flip, but I also think it would stick without butter on the other side, so you'd have to butter the top and sides, then flip....and with that much work, make your own crust and buy sauce and cheese and save yourself alot of money!

Yup, facial skin grafts waiting to happen.
There are signs that something is amiss.
Here's the thing, those little teefies, they ain't right.
It looks like they've been filed flat to keep the tyke from inflicting as much damage as would be caused by normal incisor and canines.
Obviously the child is deranged from eating lead paint chips and sniffing model airplane glue.
Testors! Turning kids on before turning on was cool!

Making pizza in a skillet? No. Reheating pizza in a skillet? YES. (It keeps the crust from getting soft like it does in the microwave.)

The Texas track meet entry (http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/texas.html) made me laugh so hard at work I had to link my coworkers so they wouldn't think I'd lost my mind.
