Aww, these bring me back to my grandfather...who always had a pair of the top ones around. Rubber, cracking, made to go over boots; I still remember the felt-like feel of the inside and the sharpness of the metal buckles.

What? No snarky comments about the brand name?

Wow. The top boots remind me of the ones we had when we were kids. I remember lines of 'em in front of all the winter coats in elementary school.

Dunno why, but it's the clip-buckle thingies on 'em that I seem to remember the most. After a bit of time tromping around in snow and slush they could get a bit of ice on 'em and be hard to unfasten.

cool!

These are still sold! I used to work at a shoe store that sold these. We sold a few of the higher ones but we sold more of the two-buckle ones. Guys who wore work boots would get them and stretch them over the bottoms of their boots to help keep them waterproof. You have to go a few sizes bigger if you want to do that though.

(I know too much about shoes!!!!)
