I didn't see this until my early twenties, but I was about ten when it came out. So dated now, but it comes closest to the world I remember at that age, and mercifully less cleaned-up and self-aware than John Hughes. Plus, who couldn't love Nicolas Cage?

Deborah Foreman appeared in a couple of character roles after this, but never became the star they thought she'd be from this film. Wonder where she is now.
