Life, October 11, 1948.  An interesting commercial tie-in:  a co-branded ad for the release of Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House and Bigelow Carpets.

Mr. Blandings's legs hurt.

Myrna Loy is her usual beautiful and poised self, while Cary Grant tries to figure out why, with the entire other half of a couch over there, the photographer has put him on an eight-inch-tall ottoman with his legs folded into some sort of anatomical origami.

If the house contained Cary Grant, it would indeed be a dream

Yum.

Shouldn't this be a tie-in for Wham?

Now that you mentioned his legs, I'd like to see how he was able to stand after sitting like that for God knows how long... LOL!

Now I can't get that image out of my head! And he keeps screaming the girly scream he screamed in "Bringing Up Baby"! D:

Love him, love her, love the movie, am mildly blinded by the sofa fabric.

It's a bit surprising any home product would want to be associated with the movie.

Apparently they were raffling off reproductions of the house from the movie around the time of its release, so maybe these were the carpets in the real homes?
