Do you use the porte-cochère to access this vestibule? You know, the one with the rusticated balustrade?
I also think it's an odd way to sell Scotcguard. When you're in the market for stain-resistant fabric, do you really care what the reception area of the showroom looks like? Let's see some freakin' fabric!
A picture of a vestibule? Did the photographer show up after hours or on Sunday when the place was locked up and just take a few shots from the sidewalk?
I'm guessing that this vestibule is a big fancy architectural achievement or something. After all, they name the architect. Then again, they name the color consultant under a B&W picture.
That is odd. Maybe the ad should credit the color removal consultant, too. And Milton Glaser (can't imagine it's a different one) went on to become a very heavy hitter in design and graphics, famous and honored for many things, including the iconic Bob Dylan poster (silhouette with psychedelic hair) -- and the "I Love New York" logo. Busy and interesting high-profile career. Still at it today.
You too...may pass through these doors on your way to Perma-Dry for Scotchguard Stain-Repellent Processing!
I can't look at this ad without being reminded of the motto of the old Earl Carroll theater in Hollywood: "Through these portals pass the most beautiful girls in the world." (The theater is still there, but it now houses Nickelodeon show tapings.)
