it is working VERY well (and warmly!) thanks!!!! the critters are way more active now and i am feeling better daily! (dr. said it would take my symptoms a couple weeks to leave)....
i thought i had the flu!!! that's the thing with CM poisoning! you don't realize you have it!! definitely get a CM detector!!! cannot recommend that enough!!!
but, i did learn specific symptoms that you could attribute to CM poisoning, though of course they could also be symptoms of flu....headaches in the front of your head....i felt, at times, like i had an ice pick going through my forehead....i RARELY rarely get headaches....again, i thought i had the flu....then i'd get them when the HEAT WAS RUNNING (clue phone still didn't go off)....
lethargy....again, if you think you have the flu, you'd think it's the flu...but i was very lethargic....i would try to do some things around the house and would get winded and just feel blah and tired....
i'd go to bed and sleep and wake up around the normal time but then i'd go back to sleep for HOURS, again, i thought i had the flu....
i did a lot of housework on new year's day....the next day i was really sick, throwing up all day....at the time i thought i had the stomach virus flu that had been going around, in retrospect i had used up a lot of my oxygen and was sick because of that, since CM binds to the oxygen in your system.....
the symptoms of CM poisoning really mimic the flu....if i didn't get a message to my head "CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING" i would have never ever thought it....that's another thing...my short term memory was on the fritz and i wasn't thinking clearly....again, if you have the flu, you aren't usually the brightest bulb at that time....
i can't stress enough about getting a CM detector!! mine was $25 and it has a digital reader in the center that tells you the level....anything over 50ppm is a danger, mine was at 350!! which is very bad!!!
This is very useful to know - thanks for typing it out!
We've got two detectors. If my husband and I ever feel like we've both got the symptoms you mention, we'll be on high alert. I think the idea that you start feeling better when you go outside is a really important thing to look out for.
You must be one tough cookie - I'm glad it turned out well for you!
yeah, that was another thing.....when i thought i had the flu I STAYED HOME!!! why go out when you're sick right? but i let the dogs out 3-5 times a day, so that obviously got fresh air into the house, and the house is drafty (thank goodness!!!)....
but when i went out that saturday to buy a CM detector my headache went away!
definitely be cautious if you have those symptoms and check your detectors! it'd be way better to be a little paranoid about CM than not!!!!! they don't call it the 'silent killer' for nothing!!
dunno if i'm a tough cookie or not, but someone (or two or three) are watching out for me!
YES!!! went to their show last night in cleveland and got my pix with each of them!!! :) it was an awesome show! and they are just the most appreciative, gracious and humble guys to their fans!!!
