Man, who didn't love this stuff? Until you dropped it on the carpet one too many times and it got hairs all kneaded into it. XP



There's a pretty obvious mistake in this ad, too--the image of the boy and girl that's on the stretched SP should be mirrored.

Yeah, I loved this stuff - until you dropped it and got hairs in it - or, until you tried to lift off the image of the Sunday comics once too often and you ended up with an inky grey blob...

Yeah, too many Sunday comics and you ended up with what looked like one of those things we used to clean the balls from Selectrics with.

In hindsight, I wonder if those were really just Silly Putty with a holder.

Loved this stuff! I still remember the chemical smell. You're right about the mirror image thing. Part of the fun was trying to read stuff backwards.

They are lying about the not sticking part. I ruined a chenille bedspread with the stuff when I was a kid, and my daughter ruined a pair of jeans last year. Grrrr.... silly putty.

This stuff was great! I especially liked pressing it up against print and having it show up on the putty. "Will NOT stick" is a lie...couldn't get it off my shirt!

I love these things to death, though I keep on losing them. I remember for some reason I went to sleep with silly putty in my hand and the next day had silly putty on the blanket and my hair.

I had several eggs of Silly Putty... after the initial novelty wore off, I was kind of bored with it, but lord knows I played with it constantly anyway, b/c it was there on my desk when I was supposed to be doing homework. Never had it stick to any of my things...

My sister once played with the stuff for most of a long car ride (LA to San Diego, I believe), then made herself a beak with it. Since it was so warm from her body heat already, it was really hard to get off. This was JUST was we were arriving at our hotel. She had to hold a towel in front of her face until we got up to the room. Our dad was pretty ticked.
