I was watching an Angry Video Game Nerd video about this system, and this commercial was in the related videos of a related video (if that makes sense).

I bet you could have a blast bumping little bits of light around with slightly larger bits of light. Fun for the whole family! :D

"Daddy, we want to play with the Odyssey!"
[five minutes later]
"Daddy, we're bored. Let's time travel to the future and get a Wii."

I remember the advent of Pong, but I don't remember that system. Though I would have been six at the time, so that only makes sense.

However I had some kind of machine that I played Breakout on, and I played it for hours. And I wasn't even very good.

I had some non-name Sears-brand Breakout game too! I bet we had the same one. God yeah... I put some serious time into that thing, and like you say -- it was SOO HARD to get good at it. ^_^

If I may jump ahead, and state that the Odyssey II was quite good... Full of interesting games.. And a KEYBOARD! Oooih.. Yeah, but version? Sucks.

I had this. All the game graphics were printed on a cellophane sheet that stuck to the screen via static electricity. Clever but it got old fast. My favorite games were pong and the haunted house shoot-out.

we had Pong, and my foster-brother and I played for HOURS! it was amazing - we loved it. just because I like Halo and things now and love them too, doesn't mean I can't remember how wonderful it was in the 70s.

Prior to both, we threw rocks at the Sleestak.

Well, right before Odyssey and Pong, we were doing this:

Which took pretty much the sam hand/eye coordination.

As tacky as this looks, I imagine in 1973 this would be on the pricey side. Also, how dumb not to have kids playing it. Adults were too busy wife-swapping and getting high in 1973 to play video games. Sheesh, call Don Draper, Season 8.

Looks like 12 versions of Pong to me. That'd bore me before long.

My dad thought that Pong was the coolest thing ever invented, ever!

My dad is such a dork. ;-P
