Lemons are not vegetables. I've also heard of a remedy for sink and bathtub stains that involves taking half a slice of lemon dipped in some cream of tartar powder and rubbing it all over the surface. I don't know what surfaces sinks used to be made of, and if they were more vulnerable and fragile, but I've never had a problem with veggie acids, myself.
I've had one. (rental place we lived in, some 20 years ago) it was wonderful. The best of it was not having to deal with a drain board because it was pre-sloped.
...There are times I wish that I could write to companies in ads like this and buy the products. You know, if I did it using contemporary stamps and used a period pen and found really old bills...
I have this Twillight Zone idea, you see, because 12 years ago I found an entire 1953 Montgomery Wards catalog at a vintage sale. This was back when everything was in the catalog, like fabric and parts for kitchen renovations and clothing and hardware and furniture. And in this catalog (which I still have) was an envelope and and order form. And I just wish I could mail that order form back in the provided pre-addressed envelope and get some things out of that catalog. And the way my idea goes, when you received your order, you would get another order form, and perhaps the next catalog...so you could order more.
*sigh* See, I want this stainless steel Tracy countertop and then I want that Dishmaster faucet to go with it. Not the modern one, but the one that looks like a 1950's Chevy Bel-Air...
Don't mind me. I get nostalgic for stuff from before I was born sometimes.
Ahh... me too. :-) My mum has a book somewhere that reproduces a series of Victorian catalogues - it has everything from cutlery and dinner services to door handles and soap dishes and and and... You could really go crazy ordering stuff from that! ;-)
