Wow, I love the way they kept reusing the same little panel illustrations. The green ones were just painted over the yellow (or vice versa?), with the same creepy rubber hand wiping away the blood(jam).

I don't know a whole lot about the production tech of the time ... do you suppose it was as simple as changing a spot colour?

Yeah, I don't know much about it, either, but the fact that the yellow ad has grey for the vertical parts and the green one is monochrome makes me suspect that someone just repainted it - though I don't know which one came first (of the three, the yellow is in the most recent magazine, but that's not proof). It's easy enough to repaint the color and still have the drawing be identical.
