Shampoo goggles strike me as a very silly thing. How do you wash the hair under the string?

Whenever I was at my Gram's, this is what I used. And just looking, it's still around.

I officially hate that website for resizing my browser window on me. haaaaaaaaate >:O

But I guess that's just an indicator of how old-fashioned the company is, or something.

(I really need to get that no javascript add-on, so I can block browser resizing - or, you know, just turn it off with the options thing. hello, just discovered that ff can do that without turning all javascript off)

Yep, it still exists. My local Harris Teeter grocery store sells it.

Didn't it use to be called Kirk's Coco Hardwater Castile? That's what my mom always used (and when I was a kid made me use too although I found it very drying).

I am really wondering based on the illustration, how OLD that kid is.

And, if um, that's a female, well, uhhh...

SHAMPOO GOGGLES OR

Image
SHAMPOO HAT (http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/9/7/2/9/3/2/webimg/177966502_o.jpg)?!

Is it time for a throwdown?

I had the hat, brought over from the UK when my grandparents visited there. My son has the SHAMPOO GRAVY BOAT!!!!1! (http://images.esellerpro.com/2149/I/241/2/lrgscaleyellow_blue1_gif.gif) I think the hat gets one point for the random sheep/dog thing on it, but the goggles get a point for suggesting an inappropriate relationship. The boat, umm, I'll have to think about that.

Oh man! I was trying to figure out how the SHAMPOO GRAVY BOAT worked when I was googling for the shampoo hat, but no in-use pictures showed up for me. It's totally lame that you have to hold it in place, and it doesn't stay on all by itself. -10 points :(

Mostly, you put it on your own head to distract your toddler so you can bathe him or her. On an adult sized head, it stays in place pretty well until it falls into your eyes, which just adds to the toddler-amusing effect. If you have two adults, you can use it on your kid, but really, how often does that happen at bath time?

We totally had a shampoo hat in my house growing up...my mom used it to wash my hair and my brother's hair when we were little. Ours was blue.

That mask looks sinister, it seems more opaque like a blinder. What were they putting in shampoos then?

I guess that "No more tears" was the logo for Johnson & Johnson for forever for a reason. What sorts of stinging chemicals were they using before that shampoos needed a mask?

I really wish I thought to wear goggles when I was small and my mom managed to get soap all in my eyes
