the new Safety Top even "minds" the kiddies!

I like how Missy is protected from the burners now! Yay! Oops, 2 seconds later she touched the oven racks.

Also, that's a MIGHTY strange dolly she's carrying.

I do love that oven though, omg. But is that two ovens or is that storage space on the side there? Either way... I'd have that in my kitchen, lol!!

It's either a warming oven a child-size rotisserie unit on the right side.

Look at all the things she's cooking at once. I mean, is it a good idea to bake a pie with a roast? Wouldn't the roast give off lots of little droplets of meat-flavoured fat?

And how likely is it that all of those items would be cooked at the same temp?

I call baloney sandwiches!!!

I agree, all those things would not be appropriately cooked at the same time. And I dunno *what* that thing on the bottom right is, but I don't think it's a roast. *squinchy eyes*

Does it really matter? It's not like they're going to actually eat that food. They're just going to cram it, uncovered and unwrapped, into the fridge next to the whole turkey.

She made that doll, herself, out of Nutella and shredded carrot.

666 Lakeshore Drive. That might explain daughter's odd little doll. And the "mini-me" dress.

I wish my oven was like that. It's so much more sensible. OTOH it also requires a fairly big kitchen.

My range is a slightly newer (than the one pictured in the ad) Hotpoint with essentially the same set of features, cluster top - storage space next to the oven, and the mysterious Deepwell Cooker.

I have all of the parts to the inset for the Deepwell Cooker, although I have never used it. (The burner also adjusts to be a regular stovetop burner.) There is also what appears to be a plug-in for a 'Deepwell Fryer' (which, alas, I do not have the parts for). This stove was apparently pretty spiff when it was manufactured - all the bells and whistles. Stove still works great, but I'd be in heaven if I knew someone who could fix the clock/timer/etc. on the control panel. Some day... someday I'll have discretionary funds to have someone knowledgeable tinker with it.

My best guess has been that the whole 'Deepwell' thing was a sort of early crock pot. Does anyone know for sure? The insert for it also has screens for steaming - pretty elaborate.

You might be interested in _The Idle Hour Cookbook_ created by the Chambers Stove Corporation. Chambers stoves had a "Thermowell" feature like your Hotpoint's Deepwell. There are several editions of Chambers manuals and cookbooks, which include recipes that take advantage of the Thermowell, available here (http://www.vintagechambers.com/indexe042.html?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=2&MMN_position=8:8). There's another site with information about Chambers Stoves here (http://www.chamberstoves.net/Literature.html).

That woman must be mental standing on her tiptoes baking all that crap. On the other hand, if her maid prepared everything and it's in the oven warming, waiting for the guests to arrive, then the idiot high heels and matching dress on enfanta make sense.

Love the style, but muchly prefer gas or induction to electric.

I've burnt my hand on an oven rack before...really hurts. I'd kind of like to have that range, though, it's cute.

Forget the strange dolly, look at her ARM. It's like some creepy rubber THING snaking across the stovetop.

I thought maybe her arm had already melted... she couldn't reach the burners but the heat from the oven is another matter.

You'll note, however, it's still possible to touch the burners from the SIDE. Better make it a slide-in.

I am -terrified- by the unnatural bending of the girl's arm. I'd initially looked again, figuring that if she was tall enough to reach that far onto the oven she was old enough to know better; but now I just can't stop looking at it!!

It's creepy. And I can't.. exactly.. place.. why.

AAAH. The shoulder is too far forward! It's, like... if she was an adult? Her shoulder would be growing out of her BOOB.

because it's a silly concept really. Inconveniently positioned burners and over racks that protrude out and can easily burn someone. Just becasue they say it's "safe" doesn't make it so!

I think it's awesome. I'd take a stove like this any day, if only it were gas.

Why do you say the oven racks will burn someone? Mine slide out like that, though it's easier not to fool with them....

I adore the idea of the burners all at the back - i'd get a stove like this in a heartbeat! If it were gas.
