It's intrusive, but the government's not forcing Kate et al. to turn their family life into a televised circus. They're volunteering. It's kind of hard to blame them when I consider how expensive it must be to have that many kids.

I find it rather ironic that the government took custody of them because they felt the parent's were unfit to raise them, only to turn around and set them up to be something of a freak show.

And it's kind of funny how the parents got the kids back, and then it turns out they were unfit to raise them. I'm not sure which situation was worse in the end.

wow! They were looked at like more of a scientific curiosity than real people. They practically grew up without their parents. It seems the government took them for themselves. Very sad lives.
