i sucked my first and middle finger for the longest time...my mom eventually made me wear a splint on my first finger. ngl it kind of worked.

i sucked my thumb until age four and then my mom slammed it into the car door and broke it---to get me to stop sucking it, yeah my mother was a winner! so when it was in a splint i started sucking my OTHER thumb! HAH!

ah thanks, it's okay though! i escaped and whereas i do have hangups and quirks due to her, i'm doing okay, though it took many years to get to that point! no one was really willing to do anything to help me (it was iowa in the 70s) so i really go out of my way now to be involved in my neighborhood kid's lives and they can talk to me about anything!

yeah, people who do nothing when they know something is going on are just as bad as the abuser---in my opinion....her family knew she was nuts but didn't give any consideration to what she was doing to me---as a teen she was babysitting a cousin and put a pitchfork through his foot! she said it was an accident....

Well, because I sucked my thumb until age six I had buckteeth and had to wear braces. To all of you that say, "Oh, that's not so bad…" I've even had dentists tell me all the people they knew who had braces as a kid end up with receding gums.

When I was 4, my babysitter put hot sauce on my thumb when she saw me sucking on it. I hated that lady.
