RIP, HMS Bounty and lost crew member(s). I was so sad to hear about this!  One crew member has died and the captain is still missing. The loss of this piece of movie memorabilia is kind of sad, too.

i am aware that half of NYC is without power, many people in NJ, CT, and other east coast states are without power....parts of Canada don't have power either.....so here is our storm plan....

tomorrow we will STILL have 'ads in disguise' (tag is 'annual amnesty') BUT for those affected by storm they can post fake ads when they get back online---which yes, i realize they probably aren't seeing this now.....we promoted the date october 31st so much though, i felt we should keep it for those of us (knock wood) who still have power....

our contest, bathrooms, WILL be delayed for at least a week...it was suppose to start friday, november 2nd....we'll see if everyone has been powered back up by then.....

we had no weekend event for this upcoming weekend....

election day ads on november 6th will still take place, cuz well, it's election day....and of course people can post election ads after election day!!!

here's a lj news post they just posted about the horrendous changes they are gonna do to our friends page....there's a link that short post to the release page going into more detail.....and oh gee, you can now PAY to have your entries promoted on other people's LJ! isn't that special????

when this is forced upon everyone i know i will no longer be using my friend's page and that is where i go 99% of the time i am on LJ......

gotta go run errands in the rain and wind! whee!!!!! wanted to post this ASAP though!

ETA: here is a link to the comment thread on lj releases where it is mentioned that in the spring they are going to redesign the WHOLE site and do away with paid accounts....we can only surmise what a whole site redesign would entail---i'm envisioning them taking away our ability to customize....and doing away with paid accounts??? the comment thread references lj russian news---they give more news in russian than english apparently! (thanks to marmaladeginger for posting that link!!)

dreamwidth is still invite free....we are still manning the lifeboats to dreamwidth to our vintage ads community over there....as your captain, i will remain here til the last and shall not abandon ship!!! it does appear lj is taking on quite a bit of water though......

This is a response to the "A Kiss For Cinderella" post a little while ago. I hadn't heard of the play. Now that I think of it though, I'm pretty sure the title is intentional.

Tomorrow is ADS IN DISGUISE.....we can post FAKE ADS....even fake ads for current products---like those fake ads for facebook, twitter, etc i'm sure y'all have seen....our friends who are without power will be able to post fake ads upon their getting back online---i'll make an announcement next week when i announce our new contest starting date....

for ads in disguise, PLEASE ONLY USE THE 'Annual Amnesty' TAG!!! no other tag at all....just that one....we don't want anyone new to go back thru archives and think it is okay to post fake ads....i'll be home most of the day tomorrow---or all day....depends how my day goes....but i'll be around!! and i have no problem tagging your entry if you don't tag it---i'm really bad about tagging my own entries!
