This is a strangely affecting ad. Part of it comes from that ellipsis, which ads a layer of ambiguity to the mother's condition. We can't even see if she's all right, she's obscured by medical apparatus and a sea of sterile white cloth. The whole ritual seems chthonic and arcane, as if its taking place in an updated version of the village birthing hut.
