misstiaThis is a reminder that the Vintage Ads community will be in the LJ Spotlight starting Sunday April 4. Thank you for your suggestions when I posted the first notice. Due to a possible huge influx of new members, my co-mod ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
tanwen and I will be moderating the posts. We have actually started that now to make sure it goes smoothly---which it is. When you submit a post, it won't show up until one of us approves it. We figured this would alleviate new posters posting posts (posters posting posts, wow) that violated the rules---and I know y'all don't want to see the same Lysol douche ad again and again! :)
There are some poster's names whom are well known due to the frequency of your posts. When we approve your first post, we will add you to the list to allow you to be able to post immediately. This is just for frequent posters. This will make it easier for my co-mod and I. Please don't take offense if you occasionally post and we don't put you on the 'clear' list! We might just have not hit the right button or might be trying to approve a bunch of ads at once.
We will moderate posts through the spotlight week and probably a few days after that.
Without our members, this community would not exist. THANK YOU to all of you!!! I think we have a great community and it is due to all our members!!
Also, we will be trying to keep up on comments for posts. If you see some comments that are offensive or trollish, please try to refrain feeding the troll (I know that is difficult to do) and send a message to report it and the improper comment will be deleted and depending on what the situation was, the offender banned or placed in a time out.
