Yeah I read they took out orange, lemon, and lime. They replaced them with watermelon, blackberry, and raspberry. (They've since brougt back orange and took out one of the berries.)
Wikipedia says the original five-flavors are still sold in Canada.
You are welcome to them! When I was younger, I would put the pineapple ones aside, then stuff them back into the roll when I was done in order to throw them out. If I'd hung on to them, I'd probably have around 50 rolls of nothing but pineapples by this point.
I keep thinking the girl is going to win the bigger part of the wishbone, as the boy's extended thumb is going to put pressure on and most likely break the bone at its weakest/thinnest point.
Also this ad is in The Golden Age Of Advertising: The '50s, so I've had a lot of time to be a total geek and think about the above.

Date: 2010-10-02 01:14 am (UTC)Butterscotch Lifesavers did, indeed, exist at one time. In a plaid wrapper. They were my favourites as a child.
Butter Rum comes in the gold and red striped packaging and you can still get it.
The butterscotch is, alas, long gone it seems. ='(
