I like the ambience of the scene--what song is she listening to? What memories does it evoke? She appears to be so melancholy, or perhaps dreamy.

Or maybe her date's late AGAIN, and she's thinking, "What an a$$hole!"

i think she's listening to some jazz and pining for her lover to get himself away from his wife and kids...she's smoking and listening to billie holiday sing "lover man", wondering if she'll ever fully possess him or if she'll always be the 'other woman'....

My grandparents had a similar console system with a TV built in the 50's, and you could play records, or listen to the radio with all the doors shut.

Maybe Billie...but my guess it's someone like Chet Baker, doing "I Fall In Love Too Easily" or "My Ideal." Early to mid-fifties cool.
