Um, does it count if we get them off the internets and don't actually scan them ourselves? o_O These are both from here: http://www.icanhasinternets.com/2010/05/25-horribly-sexist-vintage-ads/ Which coincidentally, I came across via a Twitter re-tweet. Click the ads to enlarge.

First one, apparently it's selling some kind of shoe but I am not sure of the brand. This was the whole ad, at least that's all that was there:

Second one.

Sorry, I am too sleepy right now to think of funny commentary. :/

Pretty sure the mods have approved some users to be able to post without moderation? So if you've posted before, that's probably why.

you are correct 1girl! :)

when we went to moderated posting, starting when we were in the lj spotlight, we right away approved some posters to be able to post w/o moderation....with moderated posters, after they post a few times with no problems, we'll approve them to be able to post without moderation....

re: your question....you did upload them to your puter as they link to your pix on your lj, so there was no hotlinking....as for getting ads off the internets, i think a lot of them come from there....not everyone has old ads laying around the house....

Mornidine -- wasn't that one of the flipper baby drugs?

Correction: it didn't lead to flipper babies. It led to hepatic lesions (liver bleeding). I found a link to the FDA docket for Pipamazine (its generic name) (http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/98fr/100898b.txt) from this site (http://www.theunnecesarean.com/blog/2010/6/17/mornidine-now-she-can-cook-breakfast-again.html).

Morning sickness can be horrible, utterly dreadful. It can endanger a woman's health. Charlotte Brontë is believed to have died from dehydration caused by hyperemesis gravidarum -- nausea so severe she couldn't keep anything down at all.

But nooo, it's all about being able to properly serve your MAAAAYYYUNNNN. The essential thing is to make sure HE gets HIS breakfast (because, y'know, it would kill him to fry a goddamned egg on his own).
