I've just been reading a book about alchemy, in which there was an early theory about explosions - that a substance in the air called 'phlogiston' caused sudden ignition.

I'm wondering what this cream actually did. :-s

It's like a poultice. They still use this stuff on horses' legs and feet, especially legs, when they're swollen. On the feet when they have an abscess, to draw it out. :)
