1943 Chore Girl

In the latter part of the 20th century this product became Chore Boy.

I am sensitive to the needs of my transcleaning products, and can wait until copper is available again before I do any serious scrubbing

My dad used to tell me about the metal shortage in World War II. Apparently Lucky Strike cigarettes had a metallic green color on their package that they had to stop using, and their motto about it was "Lucky Strike Green has gone to war!" (Or maybe everybody knows about that.)

I'll have to ask him if he remembers Chore Girl. I love the bug-eyed, no-nose look of that thing.

The thing I remember best was that all the 1943 pennies were steel, not copper.
