I agree, and would probably make more pancakes if I had a cute little log cabin to pour syrup from!
I would also then get fatter, and would have to buy new clothes, so perhaps it's a good thing I haven't.
Thick fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and thin crispy-edged pancakes with lemon juice and sugar rock my world.

My nieces spent the night with my parental units a while back, and they had pancakes in the morning. For some reason, Dad had bought Mrs. Butterworth's syrup, and the 4-year-old was FASCINATED with the bottle. When my sister-in-law came to pick up the kids, she asked, "Mom, how come WE never have "wady syrup"? I wike that "wady syrup"!"

A generation of kids grew up collecting Log Cabin tins and making play-towns with them, before they had to be discontinued during WWII.

I wonder if it was much tastier then, with the two kinds of maple syrups & real cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

I am sure it was. I'm from NZ, where everything is sweetened by cane sugar from Australia's northern plantations (well, except the artificially sweetened things, of course). Whenever I've visited America I've really been struck by the difference of flavour in things like Coca-Cola. I definitely don't like the flavour of corn syrup as much.
Thank goodness, then, for Coke Zero, which I shall imbibe when I want a fizzy drink on my next visit!

An ad that uses both "Gee" and "Swell" ... Amazing. Not enough ads use the word swell these days.

At least, not in a positive, non-bloated sense!

We used to buy Log Cabin syrup I was a kid. I would use the tins as toys, making little frontier villages of them in my back yard. The product still exists, though it now comes in ordinary bottles like every other syrup.

Log Cabin has always been my favorite brand. But the local WalMart only has the Sugar Free for some reason which... tastes like ass.

/sigh

I love Ghibli too. :D I have watched almost all of the movies they've made, not just the Miyazaki ones. It was one of the first things I did with my Netflix account. :3

My mom had one of the tins. =/ But we had to leave it when we ditched the pa. -sighs- She had a bunch of old tins, cans, and containers. I wish that in my younger years I had thought to take photos of the house instead of the outdoors. I remember the house perfectly, but I can't take my mind out and show it to people. =/
