My father was an electrician and used to "repair" these things. We used to go to chiropractors' offices when I was probably five years old or so. I remember machines called "diathermies" and other such monstrosities. That's why I still believe chiropractors are quacks. I remember one where there was a picture of a spine and various diseases such as cancer and tuberculosis had lines pointing to specific vertebrae. Crap.
