This is so counter-intuitive; I think eating a cake of yeast every day would give you the opposite problem, plus a raging case of candida. I itch just thinking about it.

it works to make teenage boys feel less self-worthy than teenage girls.

Win for girls with acne.

Skanky biotches.

I strongly doubt it. In the early years of the 20th century a lot of people started buying store-bought bread instead of baking their own, so sales of yeast for home baking went way down. Yeast companies reacted by coming up with ever more inventive ways of marketing yeast as a remedy for you-name-it, usually based on its laxative properties (ad copy promising to rid the blood of "impurities" or "poisons" usually translates directly as "makes you shit").

Very interesting. Cause I have a pimple the size of Mars on my face right now, and if eating a raw bag of yeast will get rid of it, then by golly! Shit.

If it had worked, everyone would know and pimples would be history.

Especially with a site like acne.org discussing everything.

There has NEVER been a girl with ANY skin ailment. Just to let you know.

I tried eating a cake of yeast when I was little--just for the hell of it--and I can tell you, it tastes godawful. It TASTES like it ought to cure almost anything, it's so horrible. It was in the refrigerator because my mom baked bread a lot and couldn't get dry yeast for some reason, and it just sat there after she finally did get the dry stuff. I asked her if I could eat it, she made sure it wasn't spoiled, and I did. GAHHH!!!

I can't imagine eating three cakes a DAY. *shudder*

If anybody wants to know what yeast tastes like: open a big family-size bottle of vitamin-B-complex tablets and take a good, deep sniff.

Eating yeast? Are they nucking futs or what? Who the heck wants to eat raw yeast? And how is it supposed to get rid of acne?

Maybe they figure people will poop out the excess sebum? No thanks, I'll stick to biotin.

Eew. I heard of putting it on your face as a treatment (DON'T!), but eating it? Like, a cube of undiluted yeast? I'm sure the vomiting that follows stimulates bloodflow in the general face area, but that's just not worth it.
Also, eating a lot of yeast (like Marmite) makes me break out, so there.

I wonder if that would support the idea of bilumia as an acne-treatment....

Aww - I feel bad for him. I had bad acne in high school and up until my mid-twenties... hormonal treatment (oral bc) was the only thing that helped.
