At the time, I bet they were a pretty hot item. I just posted below before I saw your post that they also did Coca-Cola pants, which were very popular and are pretty collectible now.

I do remember the Coca Cola pants. I think those were pretty popular because of the pervasive nature of Coke in culture and something that transcends age, unlike Winstons, I can see why they would remain a sought-after item. My mom smoked Winstons and I don't think she'd have been caught dead in those.
