Looks kinda like this mascot I found in my copy of What a Character! 20th Century American Advertising Icons.

According to the book, his name was NAT, and he was the mascot for the National Screw and Mfg. Company in the 1950s.

My god--that's GOT to be him! What a hilarious thing! Is the company's name "Cleveland National Screw & Mfg. Co."?

The image is in brushed chrome on the side of a 1937 Zippo lighter.

Maybe "Cleveland National Screw & Mfg. Co." was a local subsidiary?

Ah--got it. It was called The National Screw & Mfg. Co., and it was based in Cleveland. That's definitely the same mascot. Thanks again!

Does anyone know the location of the Nat'l Screw & Mfg company in cleveland? Does the building still exist?
A friend of mine who owns a hotel in New York has a picture of the "semi-finishing nut department" in front of their building. If the building still exists, I'd love to find the place and take a current picture.
