HOLY SHIT I used to have the book your icon is from (it was on the cover)! I used to be such a huge Alanis fan.

As for the ad, it was actually the recent Bionic Woman doll ad that made me think of the FSFs, because they were both made by Kenner. Except I couldn't remember the name of them except for "fillies" so I just googled kenner fillies and it came up on the first link.

I had the silvery one, I think her name was Chloe. I was so indecisive - I bought one, then went straight back and returned it. Of course I was like five or six at the time so it's excusable I think ;) My parents were ridiculously patient. I'd forgotten all about them.

I wanted one of those SO badly as a kid! I didn't have one of those, but I had two simular looking horses that were "dressed" to look like a prince and a hula girl, respectively. Except with saddles and hair accessories instead of actual clothes. I forget now what they were called.

i had the one with the purple mane, and the orangey-yellow one. i also had one that was supposed to be a younger/teenage horse that had a purple mane and came with a comb shaped like a guitar.
i think i had another one too.
i was a bit obsessed with horses growing up.
