It's so amazing reading cigarette ads that were made before the research on smoking. Imagine...a DOCTOR telling his patients which cigarettes to smoke which be better for their health!
actually, this ad is still completely accurate, albeit misleading. if you read between the lines, the statement of the "doctor" in the third picture is the give-away. it's essentially saying, "of all cigarettes, ones that allow the least nicotine and tar into your mouth, throat, and lungs are the healthiest." of course, getting nicotine and tar into your mouth, throat, and lungs is really all a cigarette does (oh, sorry, other than "make you look cool"), so it's really saying "hey stupid! if you're concerned about health, don't smoke!"
It's not like cigarettes being bad for you is a new discovery. King James (yep - that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_James_bible) King James) railed about the "evils" of tobacco (http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/kjcounte.htm), more from the health aspects than the moral ones.
