Oh, unless it's some variety of rationing reference. Which would make sense, as "76 years" would make it 1942 (Valvoline having been founded in 1866)...
Yes, this was during the war years when they were using massive amounts of metal for the war effort & the message was, "save, recycle, make it last." Not only for things like cars but clothes, household appliance & just about everything else.
